Tomb of the Golden Bird - Elizabeth Peters

Okay, so I finished it a couple of days ago, but wasn't ready to write about it then.  I enjoyed picking back up where I left off 5 years ago.  I was able to tie everything together nicely.  Sadly, at the end of reading this book, I discovered that chronologically, this is the last book (and there won't be any more since Elizabeth Peters/Barbara Mertz passed away a few years ago).  The remaining book took place about 11 years before this one, so it was written out of the timeline.  Oh well.  I will enjoy it too.  It's kind of sad that my mother never got to read it, but it is what it is.  I'm not going to spoil it, but I will say the story is a fitting end to the series (if there has to be an end).  I thoroughly enjoyed each and every book in the Amelia Peabody series (as well as the Vicky Bliss and the Jacqueline Kirby series as well).  I highly recommend the series and recommend reading them in chronological order starting with the "Crocodile on the Sandbank".  A list of the books and the years covered in the book are listed at http://www.mpmbooks.com/peabody/ameliabooks.html

Enjoy!
